My own comment was about the need for sidewalks near the southern edge of Sandy Springs, specifically along Roswell Road.
More broadly, the city has historically neglected to build recreational facilities in the southern portion of the city inside the perimeter. This proposed trail map reinforces that trend of taking tax money northward and building city recreational facilities overwhelmingly outside the perimeter.
As I've written before, the Path 400 running from Atlanta north into Sandy Springs has terrible connections near the city border. Windsor Pkwy, the southernmost connection to Path 400 within Sandy Springs, has no bike lane and there is no evident enforcement against drivers who drive illegally and unsafely around bikers.
So this seems like a perfect opportunity for a win-win in Sandy Springs. Cancel segment 2C of the trail, which is unpopular, and instead build a new multiuse path along Windsor. That would make Path 400 accessible to many more people, and start to fairly redistribute recreation funding through more of the city instead of concentrating it all outside the perimeter.
